Babylon Films was set up by the Filmmaker David Kahtan in order to realize his dream of telling the story of Iraq's Jews.

Growing up in the 1990s, David became deeply interested in his Iraqi heritage. His Master's thesis in 2002 delved into the changing lives of Iraq's Jews from 1932 to 1952.

For the past 20 years, David has travelled the world researching and talking to Iraqi Jews to learn about their experiences. His father Moshe, had to flee Iraq in 1967, seeking refuge in England going onto become a well-known London based City banker.

David's family has a rich history in Iraq; his grandfather Saleh served as an Iraqi Member of Parliament and Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Finance, and his great grandfather Sasson Murad was a visionary communal leader. He is a descendant of legendary Iraqi philanthropist Saleh Daniel.

If we don't tell our story, no one will do it for us.

We need to share our story now.
